SUSTAINABILITY

Advancing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our vision for a sustainable workforce

Our people are at the center of everything we do. At O-I, we are better when we reflect the diverse world we serve, feel welcome and have equal access to opportunities. We are focused on increasing all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion across our team. We’re following our DE&I roadmap to maintain progress. Our goal is to continue to create awareness and a shared accountability for creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our leaders are actively involved and our grassroots efforts continue to build momentum.

Established Executive
DE&I Council

The council establishes and oversees programs and policies, accountable for executing DE&I framework and setting key metrics.

Educating Our
Leaders

We are committed to educating leaders on DE&I topics, including unconscious biases and more.

Inviting
Conversation

We encourage conversation and collaboration among leaders and internal stakeholders to further DE&I.

Our External Commitments

We hold ourselves accountable to external organizations for our progress toward, and investment in, a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce and professional environment.
CEO Action Pledge
This pledge reinforces our DE&I Roadmap, increases visibility and accountability for improvement, and creates a path toward DE&I at all levels.
Corporate Equality Index
Benchmarking standards and reporting corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality to ensure representation at all levels.

Employee Resource Groups

We encourage our employees to create and govern employee resource groups (ERGs), grassroots-style groups that promote discussion and allyship around shared characteristics, life experiences, and common interests. ERGs provide a unique environment for thought leadership, professional development, learning, networking, volunteerism, supporting recruiting and employee retention. We currently have eight ERGs operating across our global footprint. They’re dedicated to creating a culture of understanding for the LGBTQ+ community and people with disabilities, multigenerational cooperation, and gender and racial equity.
